~ Port Alfred ~ Eastern Cape ~ South Africa ~
Nestled on a sheltered slope a stone`s throw away from the Royal Port Alfred Golf Club you will find a guesthouse straight out the pages of history. "The Residency" , built circa 1898, was originally built as a holiday home for the Grahamstown Settler Magistrate and his family. Lovingly restored to its former glory, this gracious house still retains its quaint charm complete with tongue and groove walls, oregon pine floors, wraparound verandah and zinc roof. Finished with period pieces, "The Residency" , echoes with nostalgia of a time gone by... a perfect setting for a relaxing and rewarding Bed & Breakfast stay.
Situated on the West Bank of the Kowie River, "The Residency" is in close proximity to the national road, the beach and the CBD. Port Alfred is situated halfway between Port Elizabeth and East London and is a short drive fromthe historic town`s of Bathurst and Grahamstown, making it an ideal stopover for travellers and tourists. Hailed as one of the towns premier places to stay, "The Residency" offers you luxurious tranquillity matched with the very best in good old-fashioned Eastern Cape hospitality.
