Location

Dozens of various birds visit the Estuary daily, whilst the soaring Fish Eagle watches the waters below, seeking out its prey then swooping majestically in for the kill. Facilities

Hotel
The Estuary Country Hotel was originally built in 1941 as a Manor House in the Cape-Dutch style for a wealthy family. It has been cautiously transformed into a beautiful and private Hotel & Restaurant. Its genuine design and harmony of proportions, immediately reflects the work of a master builder.

Overlooking the Estuary, the main hotel building hosts six double or single rooms, originally decorated to depict the splendor of days gone by. All units are en suite and upgraded to offer modern day facilities such as TV,telephone, coffee services and air-conditioning.

Fish Eagle Restaurant
Established in 1996, the Fish Eagle Restaurant rapidly became one of the top five dining venues on the South Coast. Whether for a light snack, original Viennese coffee break or a candlelight dinner for two or more - we promise to tantalize the taste buds with unsurpassed cuisine and a well stocked cellar of complementing wines.

Activities

The Coast
No need to travel to experience one of the most beautiful stretches of beach on the Kwazulu-Natal South Coast. A short walk and your on the beach offering tanning, swimming, shell collecting and snorkeling.

Scuba
Situated 7,5 km off Margate, Protea banks is a world renowned shark dive and a must for all who would like to view these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Protea really consists out of the Northern and the Southern pinnacles.

Oribi Gorge
The spectacular Oribi Gorge, about 25km inland from Port Shepstone, is one of the Hibiscus Coast's best-known beauty spots. To appreciate the magnificent gorge, carved out of sandstone over the millennia by the Mzimkulwana River, it is worthwhile stopping at the Oribi Gorge Hotel and taking a drive around the estate, visiting the different view points.
