An easy three and a half hour drive from Johannesburg in a malaria free region which is home to the big five and wild dog are just some of the features of Madikwe River Lodge. At 75 000 hectares the Madikwe Game Reserve is the fourth largest in South Africa and has an all weather runway for charter flights.

The lodge consists of a thatched central dining room overlooking a swimming pool with a reed-enclosed boma situated on an island. A split level lounge opens onto a wooden viewing deck which overlooks the Marico River. Accommodation is offered in 16 beautifully appointed thatched chalets all fitted with an en suite bathroom, lounge, bar fridge, telephone and private wooden viewing deck. Superb cuisine with a bush theme is a feature with the traditional boma dinner as one of the highlights.
