For the nature lover it is less than a half hour’s drive to the unspoilt beaches of Gouritzmond, Hartenbos, Mossel Bay, Vlees Bay and Boggoms Bay where the whales and dolphins play. It is also just a short trip to Riversdale and the beautiful Garcia pass over the Langeberg. From there, Heidelberg and the breathtaking Tradouw pass lie ahead en-route to Montagu, Barrydale, Ladismith or Calitzdorp. Oudshoorn, where you can visit the Cango Caves, ostrich- and crocodile farms, is only an hour and a half away, as is the mysterious Knysna forest reserve with its exquisite vegetation. Walking trails in the area are many and varied – from the beach, to the mountains, to the forests. a few kilometers from Albertinia lies one of the many game parks in the area. It offers unique three-wheeler game drives. Horse riding, boat trips and fishing can all be enjoyed in the surrounding area. Or feast your eyes on the scenery from the comfort of the well-known Outeniqua choo-choo train!

For the culture lovers, Swellendam , a historical heritage site is an hour’s drive. Mossel bay and its historical post-office tree and beautiful stone buildings is 50km away. Then of course, Cape Town with its many attractions is only four hours away. The popular Still Bay is a half an hour’s drive and the well known George, Herolds Bay and Victoria Bay can be reached in an hour.

For the adventurers there is bungy jumping from the Gouritz river-bridge. not to mention 4x4 routes, abseiling, helicopter trips and boating which can all be organised in the area.
