Location

Bartholomeus Klip Farmhouse is an intimate country lodge located on a 16 000 acre privately owned nature reserve and working farm, a seventy five minute drive from Cape Town and within easy reach of the winelands. With only five individually decorated rooms in the luxurious manor house, Bartholomeus Klip offers outstanding service and attention to detail, generous hospitality and exceptional cuisine.

Facilities

The pristine reserve supports wildlife ranging from herds of zebra, wildebeest, eland, springbuck, bontebok and hartebeest to bat-eared foxes and the rare geometric tortoise. Outdoor pleasures include skillfully guided game drives and walks through the reserve, windsurfing, rowing, mountain hiking and swimming, as well as visits to our buffalo and quagga breeding programmes.

Activities

Stroll around the farmyard to see the daily farming activities, visit the dairy, admire our sheepdogs working with herds of Merino sheep, or relax under the oaks at the boathouse, watching the animals and birdlife from the wooden deck. The day ends with a candlelit dinner under the evening sky: your only wish will be to stay awhile longer.
