Built in 1996, Malagas Hotel is a 45 - room "Old Cape", styled establishment, which provides elegant accommodation, well-prepared meals and old- fashioned hospitality. Our top priority is to provide our guests with tranquility and relaxation, that "home-away-from-home" atmosphere and complete peace of mind during your stay with us. Alternatively stay in one of the Self Catering units onboard the newly renovated ‘Breede River Queen' Houseboat. The hand drawn pontoon which started operating in 1860 is still going strong today and this is a major attraction in the area - and is today still displayed on our logo.

Whale watching season is from June to November each year. The Southern Right whales congregate here with their calves at the river mouth at Infanta. The calves come right into the mouth at the river and stay here for about 6 months until they have been weaned from the mother.

This is a special experience which touches the soul! This is the Ideal Location to take a drive to De Hoop Nature Reserve or Bontebok National Park. Otherwise take a cruise on one of our boats and enjoy the Scenery of the Breede River, up to 192 bird species can be found in the area.
