The Paul Cluver Guest House is nestled in a gentle valley on the banks of the Reebok River with breathtaking views of the vineyards and the surrounding Elgin Mountains. This exclusive complex, situated on the old ox wagon trail, is made up of the "Ou Opstal" - the orginal Homestead, the "Eselstal" - the original mule stable and the "Skool" - the original school of the Elgin area.
The initimacy and attention to detail is carried through to the en-suite guest rooms, which are all individually decorated with family antiques, paintings and photographs which reflect the history of Elgin. Underfloor heating in the winter provides this year round venue with added comfort whether its savouring a full continental breakfast with fresh farm produce, or simply spending a quiet afternoon in the tranquillity of the small quest library.
The Paul Cluver Estate is a working wine and deciduous fruit farm and cellar, which further enhances the pastoral ambiance. The unique forest amphitheatre on the farm hosts open air musical and theatrical performance during the summer. The Esate is situated in the Kogelberg Biosphere, thereby offering a veritable treasure trove of fauna and flora.
