Susan Pardew Guesthouse

The Table Bay Hotel

~ Groot Brak River ~ Western Cape ~ South Africa ~

If you're after a beachy time then you might as well do it properly. At the Susan Pardew Guest House the surf crashes continually below you and the views and salty breezes of the beach permeate every corner of the place. The big deck, which leads directly onto the dunes and fynbos and down to the beach, is also the venue for breakfast and there is a plunge pool encased within it too. You are treated to both sunrise and sunset from here and Mossel Bay glimmers most appealingly at night. Dolphins are a common sight, as are whales in season.

The bedrooms are all very large, with unusual modern furniture, the two rooms upstairs more like apartments with sitting areas, microwave and fridge, DSTV, hob and sink. The upstairs verandah is shared by both rooms, but all the rooms in the house have fantastic views of the ocean. Toeks and Marthie do dinners for guests or there's an indoor braai installed. The Susan Pardew by the way was a ship that was wrecked here in 1872 in case you were expecting her to bring the tea in the morning.
